Peter Cowley founded and ran over a dozen businesses in technology and property. He has built up a portfolio of 76 angel investments with 20 positive exits (including one that is 107 times his investment) and 21 failures. He is a President Emeritus of the European Business Angel Network and was chair of the Cambridge Angels. He has reviewed thousands of business plans, mentored nearly one thousand entrepreneurs and angels and is/has been on the board of over 40 companies, 25 of which were startups.
He is a fellow in Entrepreneurship at the Cambridge Judge Business School and has had 16 years’ experience as chair, treasurer and trustee of the boards of seven charities.
He has an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University, was awarded Angel of the Year in the UK 2014 and Angel Exit of the Year in UK and also in Europe in 2022.
He co-founded The Invested Investor with his late son, Alan which educates angels and entrepreneurs and has sold over 4500 books and 80 podcasts. Peter has been a public speaker in over 40 countries.
He is suffering from stage four cancer and is sharing his life in his third book: “Public Success, Private Grief”.
The Biz Club promotes dialogue between politicians and business leaders, focusing on private enterprise and lower taxes. It supports small businesses through networking, events, and policy advocacy.
