Emma McClarkin MEP

Emma is the youngest Member of the European Parliament representing the UK.

Having been an activist for the Party from a young age, Emma has always been passionate about politics. After working in Law, Emma decided to become more involved in Politics, and has been working for the Conservative Party in the East Midlands Region in various roles for about 10 years. Directly before being elected in 2009, Emma worked for the Rugby Football Union as their Government Relations Executive.

Emma is now one of five elected MEPs for the East Midlands region. Since elected, Emma has been appointed Conservative Spokesman on the Culture and Education and Sport Committee in the European Parliament, as well as being a member of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee and International Trade Committees. Emma is also Co-Treasurer for the ECR group.

Outside of work Emma’s interests include walking, the countryside and photography. Emma is a keen sports fan and rugby follower, and also enjoys water sports and skiing. But politics is her passion and most of the time she is keeping up to date with current affairs or supporting Party events up and down the region.

Emma is also a supporter for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and has raised money with her family in memory of her mother who died of the disease. Emma has completed four High Peak Hikes with High Peak Conservative MP Andrew Bingham to raise awareness for Breakthrough and local charities.
